Photographer, journalist, and teacher

When growing up in Delaware, my parents bought me my first camera when I was in middle school and since then photography has been a part of my life.

After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology, I fell under the tutelage of many talented photojournalists who helped me develop my photographic eye and skills.

I began my newspaper career in South Jersey where I was introduced to the people and the unique culture that embodies the region. I have been telling their stories ever since — most recently as a photojournalist and writer for NJ.com — with a curiosity that brings me closer to them which allows the reader to do the same.

I call the Jersey Shore my home and enjoy the beach life while still searching for those interesting stories and powerful images.

I am currently a freelance photographer and primarily shoot for Rowan University. Other clients include the National Basketball Association, Bally's Corporation, both the Gloucester and Cumberland County campuses of Rowan College of South Jersey, Salem County Community College, Philadelphia Inquirer, and South Jersey Magazine.

One passion that is close to my heart is photographing pets. I believe every pet owner should have professional images with their loved ones. Being the one behind the camera I missed out on those photos with my girl Lexi. I had to let her go way too soon and it breaks my heart that I never got around to it.

Now every pet portrait session I shoot I dedicate to her. My work with Tri -State Basset Hound Rescue fills my heart with joy and also brings me to tears as the hounds remind me of the love Lexi showed me, and that I miss everyday.

What I have learned over my career I now pay forward as a photojournalism adjunct professor at Rowan University where I teach students to find their passion and use the camera to tell stories.

I am a multi-award winner in the New Jersey Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest and the New York Press Photographers Association’s Photography & Multimedia contest.
